Terms of Service
DONDA is a free scam filter for Discord servers, run by one person as a side project. These terms say what it does, what it can get wrong, and what you're agreeing to by adding it.
Last updated 12 August 2026
The agreement
By adding DONDA ("the bot") to a Discord server, or by using it in a server where somebody else added it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, remove the bot from your server and stop using it.
"You" means the person who added the bot and, where relevant, anyone who uses its commands. "I" and "the operator" mean the individual who builds and runs DONDA, reachable as @xraid on Discord.
What DONDA is
DONDA is an automated moderation bot. It looks at messages and image attachments posted in servers it has been added to, and tries to decide whether something is a scam. It does that with several independent checks:
- Optical character recognition (OCR) on posted images, so text inside a picture is read as text.
- Keyword and statistical language matching against phrasing common to scams — terms like crypto, mrbeast, connect wallet, seed phrase and similar.
- Fuzzy image hashing, so a re-cropped or recompressed copy of a known scam image is still recognised.
- Known phishing-domain feeds and lookalike matching, including edit-distance checks against domains people already trust.
- QR code decoding, so links hidden in an image get checked like any other link.
It is not a general-purpose moderation suite, not a substitute for human moderators, and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Discord Inc. in any way.
Adding it to a server
You may only add DONDA to a server you have the right to administer. Discord itself requires the Manage Server permission to authorise a bot, and configuring DONDA through its /donda commands requires that same permission.
The server owner and its administrators are responsible for what the bot does in their server, including the settings they choose. If you turn on softbans, you are choosing to have members removed automatically.
What it does to messages
When a check fires, DONDA acts on its own, without waiting for a human:
- The message is deleted. Automatic moderation is on by default from the moment the bot joins.
- An entry is written to your log channel, if one has been set with /donda setup. It names the poster, the rule that fired and what was done, and shows the flagged image. Every interception is logged, including ones where nothing was deleted.
- A record of the interception is stored by the operator. What exactly is stored, and for how long, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
- Optionally, the member is softbanned — banned and immediately unbanned, which removes their recent messages but lets them rejoin. This is off by default and only happens if an administrator enables it with /donda config.
Administrators can adjust all of this from inside Discord. Nobody has to ask the operator to flip a switch for them.
It will get things wrong
Automated detection makes mistakes in both directions. DONDA will sometimes delete a message that was perfectly fine, and it will sometimes miss a scam entirely.
Use it as one layer of protection, not as the only one. Do not rely on it to keep a server safe by itself, and keep human moderators in place.
A false positive means a real member's message disappears — and, if softbans are on, that they are briefly removed from the server. That is a foreseeable outcome of running automated moderation, and by enabling those settings you accept it.
You can reduce false positives for your own community with /donda adddomain to trust domains your server actually uses, and tune detection with /donda addkeyword. Reporting a bad call to @xraid is welcome, but there is no guaranteed response time.
Acceptable use
Don't use DONDA to do harm. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Use it to harass, target or surveil individuals, or to build a record of someone's activity.
- Deliberately feed it false reports to poison its detection for other servers, or to get content or members removed that you know is legitimate.
- Attempt to overload, disrupt, reverse-engineer for abuse, or gain unauthorised access to the bot, its database, its dashboard or the machine it runs on.
- Use it in a way that breaks Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines or Developer Terms, or that breaks the law where you are.
- Resell it, charge others for access to it, or present it as your own service.
Free, and provided as-is
DONDA costs nothing. There is no paid tier, no subscription, no invoice, and nothing to cancel. That is also the honest framing for what you should expect from it.
The bot is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
No promise is made that it will be online, that it will catch any particular scam, that it will not delete something it shouldn't, or that it will keep working at all.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for any damage or loss arising from your use of DONDA. That includes, without limitation:
- Messages, images or other content deleted by the bot, whether correctly or in error.
- Members softbanned, removed or otherwise affected by an automated action.
- Scams, phishing, fraud or other harm the bot failed to detect.
- Downtime, data loss, or the bot being discontinued.
- Indirect, incidental, consequential or reputational damage of any kind.
You run this bot in your server at your own risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties or liability limits to be excluded; where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only as far as the law permits, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Availability and changes
DONDA is a personal project running on a single machine. It may go offline for maintenance, because something broke, or for no announced reason at all. There is no uptime commitment and no support obligation.
Features may be added, changed or removed at any time, including detection behaviour and default settings. Where a change materially alters what the bot does to messages, I'll try to note it, but I am not obliged to give advance notice.
Ending it
You can end this agreement at any moment by removing DONDA from your server. Nothing needs to be cancelled and nobody needs to be told.
The operator may remove the bot from a server, block a server or a user, or shut the service down entirely — at any time, with or without notice, particularly where section 6 has been broken.
Removing the bot stops all future processing. For what happens to data already stored, and how to have it deleted, see the Privacy Policy.
Discord's rules also apply
Using DONDA does not exempt you from Discord's own rules. Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply to you and to your server independently of these terms, and Discord's platform decisions are outside the operator's control.
DONDA is an independent third-party bot. It is not made by Discord, not reviewed by Discord beyond their standard app process, and not endorsed by Discord.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change as the bot changes. The current version always lives at this URL, with the date at the top of the page. Continuing to use DONDA after an update means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, remove the bot.
